Anyone who owns more than 1 Starchoice reciever?
ok we have 3 in my house, the one in my room keeps blacking out ( kind of like lagging in a videogame) it black out for a short time and keeps going sort of like when there is a storm. but this is constant, and also the other ones in my house never do that, ive replaced the reciever once but its still doing it, i think starchoice is trying to piss me off
What you can try is taking the receiver to where you have one of the others & hook it up there. If it works ok there, then the problem is in your cable run or possibly, but unlikely, the LNB. Or take a receiver from the other room & hook it up there. Make sure your signal level is good too-80% or close will do. Try all the options you can before you have to call them back ( unless you have an hour or more to kill on the phone waiting). They will ask you to go through the procedure of unhooking the cable, unplugging, you know, the usual, & then to try exchanging one from another location. I’ve actually fixed a couple of these receivers by tightening the ground connections inside the unit, but since you have warranty anyways (multiple receivers) they will replace it anyways. The receivers do give troubles like this quite often. Try all this & your best bet is to talk to the technical assistance at the top not just the first person that answers. Good Luck!
